I've been moved lately by gratitude. There has been a lot of heart ache in my own personal life, and it brought more awareness to the trauma and ache in the hearts of many others. I've been looking for the bright or beauty in every day life to move forward in my own life. You could say, I've been looking for reasons to practice or feel gratitude.
What I've found is the reason I do what I do. In small ways and bigger ways, especially with this business. The reasons why I chose to be a business photographer were two-fold. Part one is that it utilizes all of my skills and talents. Part two is that it enables me to have room in my life to volunteer in my kids' life. For example, last fall, I chaperoned a camping trip with my son's class to hike around Mt. Rainier. It was a beautiful outdoor education experience. It was not without challenges and hard lessons, but it was a joy to be there. I didn't love sleeping in the cold, and my back really didn't enjoy a crooked night's sleep. But, I did love seeing growth and accomplishment from putting one foot in front of the other to hike farther than some felt they could.
The why I do what I do keeps me growing and discovering new ways to appreciate life.
Why do you do what you do?
