Some lessons you learn the hard way. I will never forget the time I was supposed to find out why a bride wouldn't come out of the bathroom to start her portraits with family before the wedding...I was an 18-year-old assistant.
The poor woman was fighting the process of putting on make up for the first time in her life. She was told by the wedding photographer to wear make up, because she was so fair her lashes and eyebrows were invisible. I assured her that she didn't need to wear all of the make up her friend loaned her. And I helped her put on mascara and some lip stick.
